Chiefs expected to demolish Colts – What to expect from week 3 of NFL action

Every week we have certain topics that are worth keeping an eye on in the NFL. Coming into Week 3 of the 2022 season, there are certainly a lot of things to pay attention to across the league. Here we are going to dive a little deeper into some of them and why they should be monitored.

First things first, we have to cover the Indianapolis Colts. What are they doing right now? At this point, I can’t decide whether it’s the head coaches’ fault or the offensive coordinator’s fault. Are the plays really that bad or is it just a declining Matt Ryan? Maybe even the fact that they have no playmakers in the wide receiver room? Whatever the case may be, the Colts have been downright horrendous through two weeks. They are 0-1-1 after playing the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville shut them out 24-0 as well. Ryan has looked horrible, throwing three interceptions last week and the offense apparently forget that Jonathan Taylor was on the team with him getting just nine carries. Now, the Colts have to play Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs? They are going to be lucky if they can keep it under double digits. Keep an eye on their performance here, somebody could get fired with another brutal defeat.

The second thing to keep an eye on is the protection for Joe Burrow in Cincinnati. I heard that Burrow is currently on pace to be sacked 115 times through two weeks of the season. That is an absolute no-no for the Bengals. You can’t have your franchise quarterback getting hit that many times in each game, especially when he already suffered a season ending knee injury during his rookie campaign. With Burrow consistently getting harassed, this offense hasn’t found any rhythm. They get a nice New York Jets matchup in Week 3 to potentially break them out of this Super Bowl hangover.

Then we have to look at the New York Giants. They are surprisingly undefeated at 2-0, somehow. This new coaching staff has seemingly instilled a lot of swagger and confidence in these younger guys, and it’s certainly showing on the field. They get a Dallas Cowboys team playing under Cooper Rush now. The division rivalry makes this game one that will be close until the end.  However, the Giants could wind up coming out of this one on top to extend their record to 3-0. With that in mind, I think everybody should now be paying attention to the Giants to see if they can pull this off.

Finally, we come to the San Francisco 49ers. Trey Lance just suffered a devastating ankle injury that requires surgery and he’s already been ruled out for the remainder of the season. This means that Jimmy Garoppolo will be leading the charge once more and boy did that man have a fire under him last week. It was like the second he stepped out onto the field; the team just rallied around the guy. There’s been issues with inconsistent play and all that, but we can’t deny the fact that he helps them win every time he’s out there. He gets a tough matchup with the Denver Broncos, but a victory could give San Francisco fans hope for the remainder of this year.
