How Rezzil is Transforming Football Fan Engagement with Immersive VR Experiences

2 min read

Football is no longer just a game watched from the stands or on a screen. With Rezzil, fans can step into the action, using VR to connect with the sport they love on a new level.

A new way to experience the game

Rezzil’s virtual reality technology puts fans in the heart of iconic stadiums, from Manchester City’s Etihad to historic Premier League grounds, allowing them to feel the intensity of being on the pitch. It’s a first-person perspective that goes beyond watching.

Fans can try game modes like Heading or Shot-Stopper, experiencing a stadium atmosphere that feels deeply personal and real. These immersive experiences are changing how fans engage, blending the thrill of elite football with the accessibility of VR.

Rezzil’s global reach through Kiosk

The Rezzil Kiosk, a portable VR setup, has enabled fans worldwide to experience VR football. At events and activations, it’s given supporters everywhere a taste of what it’s like to play as their favourite stars.

From stadium concourses to fan zones, the kiosk adapts to different environments, opening the door for fans to step into the boots of Premier League players and immerse themselves in virtual recreations of matches and training drills.

It’s a simple setup with a big impact. Bringing elite football experiences directly to the fans, wherever they are.

Puma x Manchester City activation

Our collaboration with Puma and Manchester City demonstrated VR’s potential to bring fans closer to their teams. Through the activation, supporters got to step into a virtual Etihad Stadium, where they could experience the electric atmosphere and feel the rush of match day as if they were truly there. They also received a sneak peek of Manchester City’s new third kit, with a reconstructed Jack Grealish showing off the latest Puma football kit inside the VR headset.

This experience wasn’t limited to Manchester. Fans from across the globe including locations in New York in the US, Herzogenaurach in Germany, and London in the UK all got to experience this within the Puma stores.

Premier League Mornings in Chicago

At the Premier League Mornings event in Chicago, we introduced ourselves to thousands of fans to VR with a preview of Premier League Player, letting fans “stand” in legendary English stadiums they had only seen on TV. With over 15,000 fans attending the event, hundreds donned the VR headset and stepped into their favourite Premier League stadiums.

For many, this was their first time using VR, making the experience unforgettable. It wasn’t just about seeing the stadiums; it was about feeling the energy and intensity of what it’s liked to wear their club colours in their clubs’ stadiums, bringing fans closer to English football than ever before.

Our vision for fan engagement

With Rezzil, football fans worldwide are no longer spectators, they’re participants. Through partnerships with top brands and clubs, we’re making VR an essential part of modern fan engagement, creating unique experiences that resonate with fans of all ages.

As VR technology continues to evolve, we remain committed to being at the forefront, offering fans memorable interactions with the game and reinforcing their love for the sport in new and powerful ways.
